It rarely ever snows in Athens, but this week it did, at least in the hills around the city. And of course, when it does, it is an event for everyone, nor just for the younger ones.
This is a picture of what Athenians call snow – a sprinkling of white among cypresses and olive trees. Mount Hymettus on the left, shows a purer white.
So, while a few days ago I posted a photo about the coming of spring, today’s photo is about winter being quite unwilling to cede his throne – yet.
Let us see what the following weeks will bring – more of the same, or a breath of warmer air?
