Old, new, ancient

In the streets of Plaka (again) I caught a glimpse of the past hand in hand with the present:

In the 19th century house, a woman is tapping furiously the keys of a 21 century laptop. Above her, part of the 150-year-old wall, are three 20-century-old fragments of ancient buildings. Evidently proud of these, the unknown builder has taken pains to make them prominent. Around them the house slowly falls apart in urgent need of repairs. Yet its resident seems to pay little attention to the history all around her, concentrating instead on the urgent matters of today.
