Photo of the week: Spring invades the Acropolis

With spring in full swing, I just couldn’t help posting another spring photo, this time of flowers sprouting on the thin soil of the Acropolis. Essentially one large monolith, this steep hill has always been hostile to plant life, which, nevertheless, manages to cling on in tiny nooks and crannies, despite the hot and arid microclimate and the incessant trampling of thousands of feet.
