The moon at the Gate of Athena

Living in Greece, especially a city like Athens, means that history meshes with real life in every turn.

A few steps away from the busy avenues or behind an ugly apartment block, the city can surprise you with scenes of breathtaking beauty.

A few days ago, I was downtown  meeting a friend, when I captured this picture of the waxing moon between the doric columns of the Gate of Athena, the entrance to the city’s Roman Forum.
